What awaits you every day at Quobly

As a Financial and Administration manager for our headquarters, you will play a pivotal role in scaling our financial operations during a phase of rapid international expansion. Operating in the deeptech quantum industry with a team of ~100 people and two subsidiaries in both Canada and Singapore, you will bridge the gap between day-to-day accounting integrity and strategic financial systems.

Reporting directly to the CFO and collaborating closely with our Financial Controller and external accounting firm, you will own the quality of our financial data in Pennylane, lead the finance stream for our upcoming ERP implementation, and manage complex accounting operations (R&D capitalization, public grants, percentage-of-completion revenue). This is a high-impact, hands-on position designed for a structured finance professional eager to build robust, scalable processes in a fast-paced deeptech environment.

Technical Challenges

Accounting data integrity & supervision:

  • Manage operational relations with the external accounting firm.
  • Monitor the quality of incoming data streams in Pennylane and regularly clear suspense, clearing, and subledger accounts.
  • Track goods receipts vs. pending invoices (3-way matching / GR/IR) to streamline the payment process.
  • Act as the Finance Key User for the scoping and rollout of the upcoming ERP (Pennylane integration, data migration, system configuration).

Periodic closings & complex operations:

  • Calculate and record key adjusting entries in coordination with Financial Controlling: capitalized R&D, public grants recognition (repayable advances, public subsidies), and cut-off / percentage-of-completion revenue.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register (R&D equipment, intellectual property, depreciation schedules).
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions across subsidiaries.

Treasury & administration:

  • Prepare and review supplier payment batches and expense reports.
  • Monitor daily cash management in close coordination with the CFO.
  • Prepare financial documentation for external audits (statutory auditors, grant justifications, CIR/CII tax credit audits).

Collaboration

  • Work closely with Financial Controlling to ensure alignment between general and management accounting.
  • Provide the external firm with the required inputs for tax returns and group consolidation.

You Are Special Because

  • You have a Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting (e.g., DSCG, Master CCA, or Business School).
  • 4 to 7 years of experience, with a background in public audit/accounting; in-house corporate experience is a plus.
  • Strong command of deeptech/innovation finance: capitalized R&D, public grants, and R&D tax credits (CIR).
  • Familiarity with Pennylane is a plus.
  • High autonomy, rigorous methodology, and the ability to structure scalable processes in a fast-growing environment.
